We have been selected to participate in the Girl Effect Challenge. We need to raise funds from as many unique donors as possible by 30th November 2012. We believe you can help us do that.

We aim to help 50 shepherd girls in pastoral communities improve their lives through education. These girls are denied a chance to attend normal day time school so that they can herd livestock and perform other duties. We have convinced the parents to allow them to attend evening classes. We are therefore seeking funds to set up the classes, provide teachers, learning materials among other things.

Enhancing Education for Knowledge warriors

SDFA Kenya is partnering with grassroot organizations in helping young kids attend special evening classes, dubbed "Shepherd Classes" in pastoral communities.

Bright kids, especially girls are denied an opportunity to attend normal school since they are required to take care of their animals during the day. We are helping them get a chance to learn through the shepherd classes. They attend this classes from 5pm to 9pm. We are providing them with our 'Mwangabora' solar lamps which they use at the school, to light their way back home, and at home.
